I’m Ali Tohme, a designer and doctoral researcher based between Germany and Beirut. I work at the intersection of design practice and media theory. My research looks at how generative AI is reshaping design knowledge and creative practice. I’m interested in design theory, media theory and archaeology, digital and media literacy, epistemic and ontological design, and human-machine design ecologies.

Over 12+ years I've taken complex, intimidating domains like Finance, Health-tech, Web3, AI and made them legible to ordinary people. I work end-to-end, from research to high-fidelity UI, and I can prototype and build in code. I worked with: saip.gov.sa (Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property), amazon.com (AWS MENA), bybit.com, neotaste.com, tmrw.com (The TMRW Foundation), sanabil.studio (Sanabil Venture studios), miza.capital (Wealth management platform), and others. Currently I am:
1. Pursuing a PhD in AI and Design at Humboldt University of Berlin.
2.Heading the product design at SAIP. Heading the design department at Miza Capital.
